Who runs this desk
Swale Desk is run by one person. The byline on every page is the desk itself, not a fake reporter. No invented credentials, no invented site visits, no invented quotes. If a page cannot name its sources, it does not ship.
How a page gets made
Drafting is done with an AI writing assistant. That is disclosed here rather than hidden, because a desk that pretends to be entirely hand-written while it is not is easier to catch lying than to trust. The assistant drafts; a person runs the four tests below and checks every figure against its source before the page carries a stamp.
The four tests
- Swap test. Replace every field word with a word from another trade. If the sentences still stand, the page has no object and gets rewritten.
- Strip test. Delete every adjective and adverb. If what remains is not nouns, numbers, steps, and sources, the page gets rewritten.
- Take-away test. The table, checklist, or worked arithmetic must be usable alone by someone who knows the field. If it needs the prose, it is not finished.
- Refute test. At least one sentence an experienced person could disagree with must survive in the page. A page nobody can argue with is a page that says nothing.
Corrections
Wrong figure? Write to contact. A correction gets: the date it was made, what changed, and which source forced it. We do not silently edit stamped pages.
Money
The desk takes no affiliate revenue and no sponsorships. That decision costs traffic and buys the only thing this site has: you can check our numbers without wondering what we are selling.
